Some eight to ten months before opening the doors to One Purrfect Place, my husband Kevin and I started building cardboard houses for our cats by cutting up old boxes. Our cats Jenny and Shadow loved hanging out in these newly designed living quarters. We would get the biggest kick out of watching them play and hide out, and eventually nap in these cool little playhouses. When the idea came about to talk to people about designing and building Cat Playhouses for sale, it was then that it became clear to us that we had something really fun and exciting to sell to other cat lovers.

The company is based in Rhode Island. We have associated ourselves with many talented people around New England. Our very talented web designer and consultant (and cousin) Mike, has many great ideas for the future of our web store. Our design team at East Shore Studio & Print in Portland, Maine, cleverly brought to life our elementary designs/drawings of One Purrfect Place. There are many more creative and talented people that have helped us create a great product line, but we are very mindful that our true inspiration came from our very cool Research and Development team - Jenny and Shadow (below). The Pound Kitties R&D Team - Shadow (4 years old) and Jenny (5 years old), were adopted from the Cranston, Rhode Island, Animal Shelter. In the photos above they each had equal time in the Director's chair to provide valuable insight to the design of One Purrfect Place playhouses.
